The Walrus

The Walrus is not your typical Beatles cover band. There are no wigs, no fake accents, no gimmicks. Just 4 of New Orleans’ most seasoned players performing some of the best songs ever written, purely for the love of the music.

Whether it’s Beatlemania-era classics like “I Want To Hold Your Hand,” mid-60 psychedelia such as “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds,” rockers like “I Saw Her Standing There,” or introspective ballads like “Blackbird,” The Walrus delivers faithful renditions of Beatles classics, but with a touch of their own flair, as only 4 of New Orleans’ best known playes can. Bassist David Pomerleau (Johnny Sketch & The Dirty Notes, The Desert Nudes) and guitarist Jonathan Pretus (Cowboy Mouth, The Breton Sound) share lead vocal duties, while guitarist Felix Wohlleben (Jenn Howard Band, Noggin) covers George Harrison’s classic lead parts with precision and finesse. Andre Bohren (also of Johnny Sketch, The Desert Nudes) adds a third vocal to the mix, while also playing keys and drums simultaneously on songs like “Don’t Let Me Down,” a party trick none of the Beatles never had to pull off live.

The band has thrilled audiences all over the country, performing at festivals, sold-out theatres and clubs, corporate and private events of all types. The Walrus faithfully brings the music of The Beatles to life with each performance, putting smiles on the faces of audiences here, there and everywhere.

“Hands down, one of the THE BEST Beatles bands I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen a lot of ‘em. Do your self a favor and see The Walrus”
